He is experienced in all areas of dentistry, especially when it comes to more complex cases like oral surgery, dental implants, and other restorative procedures, and is up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental techniques and technologies. Dr. Ramos’s Story

After growing up in Brazil, Dr. Saimon Ramos and his family moved to New England, settling down in Boston when he was 14 years old. He stayed in New England for the next 12 years, and completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at University of Massachusetts Boston, where he met someone that would change his life forever. 

Dr. Luhao Chen was Dr. Ramos’s dentist while he was studying at UMass, and he was inspired by Dr. Chen’s passion for dentistry, and by the way he treated his patients with compassion, understanding, and a true desire to help make them smile. Dr. Ramos took this inspiration and ran with it, leaving the frigid Boston winters for the sunny beaches of Florida, where he attended the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville. It was here that he earned his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry before completing a 2-year residency, falling in love with the Tampa Bay area in the process. 

It wasn’t just beautiful beaches and warm weather that he fell in love with, however. During his residency, he met the woman that would soon become his wife. Before long, he was practicing as an associate and he and Lauren decided to settle down in the Tampa Bay area and start a family of their own. 

Things were going great, except for the fact that he was feeling stifled as an associate dentist. He wanted to go above and beyond for his patients, to find new ways to provide a better experience for them and to produce better end results, but his ideas were often shut down for being too “expensive” or taking “too much time.” For Dr. Ramos, there are no shortcuts, and his patients are far more than just numbers, so he knew that in order to provide the elevated experience he felt they deserved, he would have to set out on his own.

That was when he took over the Palm Harbor dental practice, where he has been practicing as the Bow Tie Dentist ever since.
